I'm always looking for comfy, relaxed-fit sweatshirts that teeter on the flattering side of oversized. The type you can throw on in a rush with whatever and know you're going to look good. Baserange, one of my favorite brands, have just that in 100% organic cotton in a chic tone of Nude. With affordable prices, Baserange sets a high standard for quality and ethical production. Working with small, family-based factories in Portugal, the brand is doing their part to reduce their carbon footprint by using natural fabrics such as recycled cotton and wool. They focus on sustainable, non-chemical processes to create beautiful, relaxed pieces.

For many years, taking care of myself consisted of showering and showing up to work on time. Sleeping and eating were inconveniences, at best. I didn’t think to exercise, and meditation was a completely foreign concept. But a couple years ago, when I turned 29, I began to experience extreme symptoms of burnout. I’d been a reporter for the New York Times for four rewarding but grueling years, and the demands of keeping up with work and nonstop city life had worn me down to a nub. My energy was low and my light dim. At the time, the Audre Lorde quote, “caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation” had become a viral anthem of self-care around the web. I kept seeing her words out of context, and after some Googling, I traced them back to their point of origin.
